Lazy Bones!

I had an excellent holiday! And of course I ate way too much and paid for it for the next few days with lazy bones and lack of enthusiasm. Ha! I would do it all over again. This is the last week of taper before my marathon next weekend and I need to eat well and stay focused. I am not feeling as good about this one as I was the last one, but I don't really have any expectations except to finish comfortably and be good at my pacing. My real goal is the 50 miler in March so I need to do this 26.2 and  get right back on the horse as I have some very long training runs to do in the next two months.

For Thanksgiving I stayed with my adopted Mississippi family near Vicksburg on a 7,000+ acre cattle ranch. I got in a short trail run and some hiking and here are some images from the extraordinary landscape at dawn.

Those pictures are amazing.

Happy Thanksgiving! I'm with you on the eating too much. Bleh. But it was sooooo good. And I stayed fairly active, so I probably only gained 5 lbs instead of 10. :P

Lovely photos!

I think it's normal and healthy actually to be a little bit indulgent and unhealthy a couple of times a year. :)

Lovely photos! Glad you had an enjoyable Thanksgiving. Hey, I think this little 26.2 mile run you have coming up just qualifies as some 'tempo' work for your 50 miler in March...... :-)

The pictures are gorgeous, they sort of remind me of my grandma's place when I was in a kid in NE Iowa...good memories :).

I think I ate my weight in pumpkin pie and really felt lethargic and uninterested in running ... I feel your pain. Thankfully, this week is a new week :).

Excited for your race!! I have the same plan for my upcoming marathon - just get 'er done!

xoxo

I always eat way too much over Thanksgiving break. Four whole days of being in a food coma.

The third photo right underneath the one of the cows is beautiful. What a peaceful run that would be. Sigh.

Ok, looking forward to hearing about your race this weekend. YAY!
